A few weeks ago, I have confirmed a training programme with Malaysia Airlines. I have chosen the Boeing 747-400 for this training. 

Yesterday, I went to Malaysia Airlines Flight Crew Training Centre, located at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport ( Subang ). Dad and mom accompanied me. We reached there at 4.30 pm, half an hour earlier than what time my session should be. The training centre was very big and the air-cond there was freaking cold. 

1645 : A simulator engineer came out and he said hi to us. He's a friendly guy, around 40 yrs old.

1655 : We were brought to the simulator base station. There I saw B737, B777, A330 simulators.

1700 : We entered the B747-400 flight simulator. 

* for your information: flight simulator is not a toy which you might think it would be. It is actually a special machine designed for respective airlines to train their pilots because flight simulator is exactly the same as the aircraft cockpit and it is moveable, it has motions. It will react sensitively to turbulence, winds, snow, rains, and more. It is 100% the same as real cockpit.

1715 : I have selected Hong Kong International Airport to do my take off and landings.

1730 : Took off from HKIA successfully. It was a smooth take off.

* My parents sat behind me because the flight simulator was moving upwards and shook slightly due to the wind approaching us. 

1735 : Flight instructor guided me to land at HKIA. It was a full autopilot landing.

1740 : I did my first ever landing in my life. It was fine before the aircraft touched down. It crashed slightly because I was not familiar with the correct landing angle.

1745 : I did my 2nd landing at HKIA. I successfully landed and slowed down at the end of the runway. My mom was holding the arm of the chair tightly because if the aircraft was to crash, it would give a big impact and a strong force would have acted on us.

1750 : I took off from HKIA and this time the engineer set a tough situation where 4 planes coming towards my direction. I had to avoid them. I managed to do so.

1755 : I landed smoothly at HKIA. This time was much better than the 1st one. My mom was calmed down.

1800 : I requested to do a dangerous landing at LA, America because I knew that it was one of the most dangerous airport for landings because the runway is short for B747-400. I controlled the plane with a very tensioned feeling. I landed although it was difficult. However, I noticed that the aircraft was just approximately 50 metres away from the end of the runway. I quickly pressed on the braking pedals. Again it was scary. You will know the feeling if you had went on a plane before. I pulled up the reverse throttle with full force because it was very hard to pull that thing. The plane travelled around 200 m and finally it stopped.

1815 : I came down from the Captain's seat and I took some photographs. Hope you like them.

International travellers have voted Hong Kong the best airport in the world - the final results being the most closely contested in the history of thi

Hong Kong International Airport has been named best airport in the world, in the worldwide passenger survey results released today by Skytrax. For the first time in the history of this World Airport Survey, second place was tied and is awarded jointly to Seoul Incheon and Singapore Changi airports. "We congratulate the Award winning airports, whose standards of customer service have received a very clear vote of passenger confidence and satisfaction" said Skytrax CEO, Mr Edward Plaisted. "This year's study proved to be the closest fought traveller survey we have ever conducted. When the interviews closed and data analysis was run, we thought we had a tie for first place amongst the top 3 airports. With the scale of survey interviews for this year, such a result seemed almost impossible. After an extended period of result checks, Hong Kong emerged as overall winner, with 2nd position shared jointly by Seoul Incheon and Singapore Changi" added Plaisted.
"Hong Kong has been a frequent, former winner of the Best Airport title, and their return to the top this year is testament to the quality of service being delivered across their front-line staff areas, together with the more functional aspects of an airport that depend upon delivering efficiency and consistency" said Plaisted. "This year in particular, our heartfelt congratulations go to Seoul Incheon and Singapore Changi who share 2nd place. It was very much a case of a 'photo finish' to determine the top 3 airports, and that is why Seoul and Singapore should be proud of their global achievement in the 2007 results." Top of passenger priorities in this survey were general ease of airport usage and waiting times. "Travellers expect security processing to incur some delays" said Plaisted, "but are disappointed - often annoyed - if the security facilities are inadequate. Waiting in line for 30 minutes to find only half available security scanners open was a frequently stated complaint." The negative impact of these service aspects were a marked complaint that resulted in London Heathrow Airport position falling from 45th (2006) to 103rd in the 2007 results. Frankfurt was another marked faller, down to 94th from 48th (2006). Passengers are spending more time in the airport environment nowadays, and many airports have reacted well to satisfying their needs. Whilst business travellers' look for speed and maximum time utilisation in the airport, it is leisure passengers that tend to make more use of, and enjoy an airport's facilities. "These are the people who notice how clean the washrooms are, how much seating is available, what prices are charged at food and beverage outlets, and how helpful the airport staff are." In Europe, Munich remains the passengers' favourite airport, taking Best Airport Europe title and ranked 4th in the world. Zurich was another upward mover, 2nd in Europe and 5th globally (2006-8th, 2005-15th). Vancouver is named Best Airport North America, and in 9th place worldwide, is the only N American airport to feature in the top 10. The air traveller survey is conducted annually by aviation research organisation, Skytrax, and culminates in the announcement of the World Airport Awards. The survey is based on more than 7.8 million detailed passenger surveys, covering over 170 airports, and conducted over an 11 month period throughout the world. Final passenger judging covers over 40 categories of product and service quality - items such as terminal cleanliness, staff efficiency and courtesy, terminal signage and walking distances, as well as features like shopping, dining options, internet services. Security processing and immigration waiting times were also a constituent factor of the survey.

Airbus A380 In Singapore Ground Mishap

Passengers on the world's biggest plane, The Airbus A380, had to switch aircraft in Singapore after the superjumbo accidentally touched the grass on the side of the tarmac as it left the departure terminal.
Singapore Airlines said no one was hurt in the incident involving the A380 bound for Sydney.
"The aircraft -- an Airbus A380 -- came into contact with the grass verge off the airport tarmac," Singapore Airlines said in a statement. It said the plane was not using its own power at the time, but was being led by a tow truck. A fault with the truck's hydraulics had led to the incident, it said.
Passengers were being put on a Boeing 747 to Sydney, the airline said. The A380 will be inspected for damage before returning to service, the company said.

Airbus 380

Airbus has recently introduced its new model, named A380 to the world. A380 is a double decker aircraft, it's capacity reaches up to 850 seats ( original ), but Singapore Airlines ( the first airline to fly the A380 ) required the Airbus company to modify the plane into a more comfortable aircraft by reducing the number of seats inside. Although Singapore Airline is the first to fly to fly it, but the airline is not the one who ordered the most of this model. Emirates Airways (Arab) is the one who ordered the most (50+) A380.
THE ENGINE=
Airbus A380 is using the engine Trent 900, manufactured by Rolls-Royce company. The special effect of the engines is making the A380 to have lower noise being produced during the take-off and landings.
